Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions
When are the Drive Days held and how far in-advance do I need to book?

Normally, the Ferrari Drive Days are held on either a Wednesday or Saturday. Due to popularity, places are normally available within at least a couple of months in advance particularly for Saturdays. Traffic conditions are generally better mid-week than weekends, but Prancing Horse provides both options.
What are the payment options – can I provide a deposit?

You will need to provide complete payment in order to place a reservation for a Ferrari Drive Day.
How can I organise a gift voucher?

Prancing Horse provides open-dated gift-vouchers, which are valid for a period of 12 months from purchase. Alternatively, if you would prefer to pre-select a specific date for the recipient, please use our Ferrari Drive Day reservation system to choose your date and then tick ‘gift-voucher required.’
What are the age requirements to participate?

Each driver must be at least 30 years of age and no older than 75 to be eligible in order to participate. The minimum age for any non-driving passengers is 15 years due to air-bag safety requirements.
Can I bring a passenger with me? How much?

Yes, however the additional cost to bring along one passenger is $770. This means that you’ll also receive double the amount of driving time and will be partnered exclusively together the entire day.
How much driving time does each driver get?

Prancing Horse cater for 8 guests on every Ferrari Drive-Day, each alternating between both driver and passenger throughout the 200km journey, until all guests have driven all 4 Ferraris. Should a non-driving passenger wish to accompany a driver (additional cost of $770), then the nominated driver will receive double the amount of driving time throughout the experience. Please note that if you attend by yourself, you will be partnered with another guest during the experience.
Do I need to be proficient driving a manual transmission?

Yes, you’ll need to proficient driving a manual transmission to enjoy driving all of the different models. Should you not feel comfortable driving a traditional ‘H-pattern’ manual gearbox, please let us know at least 14 days prior to your scheduled Ferrari Drive Day so that we can partner you with someone who is confident. There is usually a minimum of two Ferraris on each experience, which can be driven in either automatic or manual (paddle-shift) modes.
What should I bring and what should I wear on the drive day?

Depending upon the particular climate, you will need to wear clothes that are both comfortable to drive in, but do not cause damage to any interior components – particularly leather upholstery. Jeans or denim clothing are not allowed because they may scratch and cause dis-colouration to the soft leather seats. Please ensure that you remove any jewellery such as rings or bracelets. We recommend that you bring sunglasses, and narrow-soled footwear to ensure you are as comfortable as possible.
What happens if bad weather is forecasted such as showers, storms, high winds or heat?

If severe weather is predicted, Prancing Horse may postpone or cancel a Ferrari Drive-Day within a 24 hour period of the scheduled event, though we’ll try our best to provide as much notice as possible. Prancing Horse will cancel any drive-experience if severe thunderstorms, flooding, gail-force winds, hail or temperatures exceeding 35 deg Celsius are predicted.
What happens if the Drive Day is postponed?

In the unlikely event that this should occur, each guest shall receive an open-dated gift-voucher that is valid for a further 12 months as well as a series of alternative dates to select from at your convenience. Please note that Prancing Horse will not be held responsible for any additional costs incurred as a result of cancelling or postponing a drive-experience due to weather.
