la Dolce Vita
Ferrari says the new car’s style is a contemporary representation of the carefree, pleasurable way of life – “la Dolce Vita” – that characterised Rome in the 1950s and ‘60s.
The new Ferrari GT was revealed in the city that gives the car its name: Roma. The new front-engined coupé, embraces a classical design approach with cues to other Prancing Horses from the past such as the 1971 365GTC/4, a 2+2 based on the Daytona.
As a front-engined, rear-drive, two-door coupé with GT luxury and everyday usability, the Ferrari Roma is powered by a twin-turbocharged, 3.9-litre V8 pumping out 620PS (612bhp). It is coupled with the eight-speed DCT gearbox from the SF90 Stradale.
The Roma is slightly smaller than the Portofino and without the retractable top weighs less at 1,472kg. Ferrari claims a 0-62mph time of 3.4 seconds and a top speed of more than 199mph.
