Frequently Asked Questions
In addition to our general Q&A, here is some information specifically relevant for Tasmania.
Is the driving experience designed for 1 driver or 2 drivers?
This event is designed for couples or pairs and it is important that both guests share the drive throughout the day.
Driving multiple supercars, back to back, though the mountains requires a high level of concentration and driver fatigue may result if just one person drives for the complete duration of the 300km journey. We encourage everyone to share the drive, even if it’s just a little bit, and we will provide guidance on whether the road ahead is challenging or relatively easy. 🏎️🍃
Do I need to be comfortable being around dogs at The Truffle Farm Tasmania?
Truffle dogs play an integral part in the experience at The Truffle Farm Tasmania. The dogs – Doug 🐶, Poppy 🐕🦺 and Penny 🐕 are all highly trained, extremely friendly and well-behaved dogs, however you will need to be comfortable around them.
When do I need to finalise the remaining balance payment?
Please note that complete payment is required at least 4 weeks before the scheduled event and reservations may be released if the remaining balance has not been finalised by this time. Please ask us if you would like to arrange instalment payments too. 😊
What type of clothes should I wear and bring to Tasmania?
The weather is normally spectacular during late summer and early Autumn in Tassie, however we recommend being prepared for temperature fluctuations and wind. Warm layers, including a light jacket and fully enclosed, flat-soled shoes 👟 are essential and we kindly ask guests to not wear jeans, denim clothing, jewellery or anything that can scratch or damage leather upholstery.
Is the driving experience weather dependant and should I book flexible airfares and accommodation?
In the interests of safety and your driving pleasure, our luxury driving experiences are held ONLY when roads are dry.
We have carefully selected February/March to minimise the risk of wet weather affecting your experience. Late summer and early-Autumn is usually one of the most stable times of year and spectacularly sunny. ☀️
We will contact you if we are concerned about the weather forecast leading up to your event – we usually aim to provide at least 24-48 hours’ notice to minimise any potential inconvenience and will work with you to re-schedule to the next best day.
Please ensure that to book airfares and accommodation with flexible fares or cancellation policies just in case! ⚠️
Do guests of Prancing Horse receive special rates when booking accommodation at Peppers Silo Launceston?
All guests will receive a unique promotional code to unlock a 10% discount on accommodation rates at Peppers Silo Launceston. The code will be included in your booking confirmation from Prancing Horse.
Which Australian cities have direct flights into Launceston?
Launceston is easily accessible with direct flights, often daily from Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide or Perth. ✈️
Peppers Silo Launceston
TASMANIA
On the banks of the idyllic Tamar River is the uniquely characterful Peppers Silo Hotel. Dating back to the 1960’s, the heritage building which spanned 35 metres high containing grain in four large silos, is an iconic landmark converted into a sophisticated 9 storey hotel.
