Choosing the route for a driving experience is a lot more complex than people think. We select roads that are great to drive but also have zero or minimal potholes, hazards, traffic and so on. We personally drive the route to inspect it and speak to locals for tips on the best driving roads.
Lead Car For Your Safety
One of the most convenient parts of our events is having a lead car at the front of the pack. We’ll alert you via radio of any road hazards, potholes, cyclists in advance so you can have absolute peace of mind and just focus on driving!

Frequently Asked Questions
We do not restrict anyone form attending this experience, no matter what car you have, whether it be an exotic, a classic, a sports car or something you just love to drive, ALL are welcome!
The drive itself is about 3.5 hours, factoring in toilet breaks, refuelling stop (if required), and scenic locations to stretch your legs!
We have negotiated designated parking areas at each hotel offering a higher level of security and convenience.
We have factored a re-fuelling stop on the route however we recommend you arrive at the hotel with a full tank of fuel to avoid any unnecessary stops on the drive.
We have made provisions with local mobile mechanics and tilt trucks to assist in the unlikely event of a breakdown, please also ensure you have any “road side assist” contact details handy on the day, either way, we will do our best to get you back on the road or ensure you continue to enjoy the rest of your experience.
We will provide a dedicated lead/escort vehicle for the drive so the only rule is that you simple follow the “sacrificial lamb” ahead. You will be provided with a UHF radio on the day and your host(s) will be in constant communication warning you of any possible hazards or impediments ahead so if there is anything of concern, you will know in advance.
No one knows your car better than you in terms of its capability, we simply ask that you respect others that may be in front or behind you. The road is there for you to enjoy responsibly and we encourage you to obey all signposts.
We carefully select the seasons that offer the most temperate and ideal conditions for driving at each location across Australia. If heavy rain or adverse weather conditions are forecasted, we generally aim to provide as much notice as reasonably possible should a decision be made to postpone an event in the interests of safety. It’s certainly more fun in the dry!
Prancing Horse have and always will provide you with the greatest flexibility to re-schedule or transfer your reservation at any time, without need for a reason and without any cancellation fees/charges. This has been our policy for the past 16 years. Similarly, in the event of a postponement or cancellation due to COVID restrictions or otherwise, we will provide you with the complete freedom to transfer to any future event with us. This is the reason why we do not request full payments in advance, only a deposit that is transferable at any time.
You’re welcome to pay via debit, credit-card or bank transfer. We only require an initial A$500 deposit and there are no surcharge fees for using VISA, MasterCard or American Express – we simply absorb them for greater convenience. Our invoices include a secure payment link for credit card deposits as well as bank details for direct deposit payments.
You can opt to finalise the remaining balance via instalments on either a weekly, fortnightly, monthly or quarterly basis. This can be automated for you via our secure payment gateway on a preferred debit or credit-card, or you can transfer via direct-deposit.
Yes, absolutely. You can nominate a specific value or select an experience or destination for someone special. You’re even welcome to leave it completely open for the recipient to decide which experience interests them. At the end of the day, all options offer complete flexibility and can be transferred between any of our luxury experiences across the country.
As this is an organised drive event, we provide public liability cover however all other insurances relating to you vehicle is the responsibility of the car owner(s).
